Wrestling Athletes of National Centre of Excellence (NCOE) Mumbai, under Sports Authority of India, have made their mark at the U17 National Championship, held from July 5-7, 2024 in Uttarakhand, clinching a total of five medals.
Samarth Mahakave, has secured Gold in Greco-Roman 55 kg, followed by Jagdish Srinath with Silver in Freestyle 65 kg. Suraj Yadav (60kg), Arjun Gadekar (71 kg), and Pooja Rana (53 kg) contributed to the success with Bronze Medals in their respective weight categories.
Chief Wrestling Coach at NCOE Mumbai, Raj Singh, lauded the athletes for their outstanding performances and emphasized their potential to represent India internationally in the future. He expressed gratitude to the Sports Science Staff and Administration for their support in creating an environment conducive to athletic achievement.
NCOE Mumbai has produced top-tier wrestlers like Olympian Narsingh Yadav and World medalist Sandeep Yadav, Commonwealth Championship medalist Sandeep Kate, Bajrang Yadav, Baliram Yadav, Shubham Throat, and many other national medalists, and the legacy is being carried on by these young athletes.
